Not just for California

Prop. 8 is not just a concern for those living in California. If this proposition passes it will open the gateway for all the other states to follow suit. We need to protect the family no matter where we live. In fact, I have heard that as of August 1, 2008, opponents to Proposition 8 have raised 52% of their $5.7 million from outside the state. That is a huge statement that this will not end with California.

Here is a link of companies who have donated money in opposition of Prop. 8. On my side bar (called Let Your Voice Be Heard) you will find links to contact some of these companies. Whether this affects you because you live in California or not, please take a few minutes and write a letter, email or make a phone call. This really is important and we need to do all we can to try to make a difference. Please let me know if you have problems with any of the links.

Also on my side bar you will notice a prop. 8 logo. Click on the icon to go to a site that is focused on protecting marriage and working hard to help get a yes vote on prop. 8. You can go to their site to learn more about this fight and find ways in which you can help (http://www.protectmarriage.com/). They need donations as well as volunteers. Or if you live nearby you can ask me how you can get involved and I can direct you the person in charge in our area.

Just a side note about the Hallmark link on the side. They have announced that they will start carrying same sex gender wedding cards. Same sex marriage is not recognized in 48 states, but Hallmark has chosen to become a corporate advocate in advancing homosexual marriage. However some Hallmark stores are refusing to carry these. So please contact Hallmark and let them know you disagree with this.

When you do contact these companies you don't have to be confrontational or rude. Just tell them your feelings and get your voice heard. If you use one of these services and feel the need to stop supporting them, TELL THEM! If we all do this, we can make a difference.

Please check back often to see new updates.

Thanks for posting the company info. I was really sad to hear about McDonald's since my kids love to play there!

Great post and thanks for all of the info. I was disappointed about McDonald's too. I have a bunch of coupons for free sandwiches which I will not be redeeming.
