Wii Wish You a Merry Christmas!!!

After all the presents were opened there was one left that didn't have a tag on it. The kids all opened it last and discovered that Santa had left them a Nintendo Wii. They all started screaming (even Isaac although I don't think he knew why) and were very happy. If only they knew what Santa had to go through to have that Wii under the tree Christmas morning.....

We have had A LOT of fun playing the Wii. In fact all of us were very sore the day after Christmas! It really is a work out! At the beginning of any game there is a warning to make sure that you are away from objects or people when you are playing so that no one gets hurt. I must say we started taking that warning seriously when on Christmas night Chris was playing golf and clocked me upside the head. I saw stars for a while but luckily was okay after a few minutes.....

Christmas Morning

We let the kids open their stockings right when they wake up but they have to wait to see under the tree....Even Cooper got into his stocking and spent the rest of the morning happily chewing on his bone.

WHAT SANTA BROUGHT....

Emily got her skateboard ramp,Abby got her mp3 player and Isaac got a Spiderman Scooter from Santa. Just for the record Abby did NOT get the Swiss Army
Knife she wanted.....Gee, darn!

Here are some more pictures of the kids opening presents!

Christmas Eve at Nana and Grandpa's

As usual, we went over to Nana and Grandpa's for Christmas Eve dinner. The kids acted out the Nativity as Grandpa read it. As you can see Chris was the kid's choice of being the donkey. Isaac is a shepard. We let the kids open a couple presents from us (always a church book and Christmas jammies). They also get to open a couple from Nana and Grandpa. Isaac got a neat superman cape that Nana made him. He didn't want to take it off!

Santa 2007

This weekend we had our annual Santa visit. We had a great time as usual and all the kids enjoyed seeing santa and telling him what they wanted for Christmas. Isaac told Santa he wanted a scooter. After he got off his lap he came over to me and said, "Where's my scooter?" Apparently he thought the gift came automatically after he asked for it. He wasn't too happy when I told him he had to wait until Christmas to see if Santa brought him one. Santa got a chuckle out of Abby's request. She asked for a few normal things and then we heard him laughing and asking Abby how old she was. He said it was the first time he had gotten a request for a Swiss Army Knife from a 7 year old. Santa, please don't bring that! Emily asked for a skateboard and skateboard ramp. Santa told her she had better ask for some knee and elbow pads as well! Luckily those are already on her list.

Poor Cooper!

Cooper had some surgery this week (boy dog stuff...) so he had to wear this funny cone thing when we weren't watching him very closely. He really hated it so we just put it on him when we were gone and then we just kept an eye on him while we were home. We ended up having to get him a bigger cone so the girls picked out red. They had the grand idea to try it on themselves.

Of course then Isaac wanted to try it on. Please don't call CPS he really wanted to put it on! As he had it on the girls said that this would be a good way to keep Isaac from sucking his thumb.....well of course he proved them wrong by sucking it with it on.

Isaac's Scripture Study

Whenever I am reading my scriptures or we read scriptures as a family Isaac gets so excited and yells, "Yeah, scriptures!" He will then run over to get some scriptures off the bookshelf and park himself on the couch to read. He likes to flip the pages and will make comments like, "verse seventeen." I hope his enthusiasm for the scriptures continues as he gets older.

Our Tree

Here is our decorated tree. The kids had a lot of fun putting up the ornaments even though this year we had a "pretty" tree instead of the "kid" tree with all the homemade ornaments we usually have.

Here is Isaac taking the word "stockings" literally.

Since the girls have been off track Isaac has been waking them up each morning. He loves to go into their rooms and snuggle with them and tell them to get up.

Santa Blast from the Past!

Here are some fun pictures of the kids with Santa over the years. As you can see they adore him! Abby had a couple years where she wouldn't go near him (thus the tears in one of the family pictures) but after that she was fine. Emily has pretty much always been a santa fan, although one year he had to warm her up with the candy. My kids think it is especially fun to run into Santa at church since he attends a different ward in our same building. They even recognize him now in the summer without his beard. He always has a hug and candy in his pocket for them. We love this guy!

Go Play Golf

These pictures are from this summer at Old Greenwood, but I thought they were too cute not to share. Isaac, like his sisters love to play golf with daddy. I don't quite understand the obsession, but the more I can encourage the kids to play with dad the better off I will be right? Hmmm....Chris golfing with the kids while mom has 4 hours of peace!

Go play golf.
Go to the golf course.
Hit the ball.
Find the ball.
Repeat until the ball is in the hole.

A Funny Isaac Moment

I thought I would share this funny thing that happened with Isaac today. After his nap we were hurrying to get ready to go to tithing settlement. I was getting Isaac ready and asked him if he wanted to go see the Bishop. He got all excited and started singing, "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!" On the way to the church he kept saying, "I go see the Bishop." We thought it was cute. When we got into the bishop's office Isaac loudly said, "Where is the astronaut?" Apparently when we said, "Bishop" he thought we were saying, "Spaceship!" So he was a bit confused that there was no spaceship or astronauts around. We finally caught on and we all got a good laugh, including the Bishop! Poor Isaac though, as we were leaving he kept saying, "I see the spaceship now?" Luckily we did see Santa and the kids got some candy from him so hopefully that made up for it a bit!

Palm Springs

We had a lot of fun with my parents in Palm Springs this year. The weather was pretty good for us and we were able to have some fun at the pool. We also had fun seeing movies, and eating a lot of food! We had a bit of drama when Isaac fell off a metal table after playing miniature golf. He and I had blood all over us, but luckily he bounced back fairly well.
